Glucose-regulatedprotein94(Grp94)isanendoplasmicreticulumluminalstressproteinwhichbelongstotheHsp90familyofmolecularchaperones.ThesequenceofGrp94includestheCOOH-terminaltetrapeptideLys-Asp-Glu-Leu(KDEL)whichisasignalsequencethatcausesproteinstoberetainedinthepre-Golgicompartments.ExpressionofGrp94isup-regulatedbystressconditionssuchasglucosestarvationandheatshock,anditfunctionsinintracellulartraffickingofpeptidesfromtheextracellularspacetotheMHCclassIantigenprocessingpathwayofantigen-presentingcells.
Thisantibodyrecognizesan~98kDaproteincorrespondingtothepredictedmolecularmassofGrp94onSDS-PAGEimmunoblotsinhuman,mouse,rat,rabbit,monkey,hamster,guineapig,dog,bovine,sheep,pig,chickenandXenopus.
