TheHsp70familyincludesfourhighlyconservedproteins(Hsp70,Hsc70,Grp75,andGrp78)whichfunctionasmolecularchaperones,intranslocationofpolypeptidesacrosscellmembranesandtocellnuclei,andinproperfoldingofnascentpolypeptidechains.SortingofproteinsbytheHsp70familyreliesonaC-terminaltetrapeptidesignal,usuallyKDELinanimalcells,andHDELinS.cerevisiae.
Thisantibodyrecognizesa~70kDaproteincorrespondingtothepredictedmolecularmassofHDELinDrosophila,yeast,andvariousplants(barnyardgrass,beet,cotton,mungbean,sorghum,andwheat).
Immunoblotting:useat0.5-1ug/ml.Abandof~70kDaisdetected.
Immunofluorescence:useat0.2-2ug/ml.Thesearerecommendedconcentrations.Usershoulddetermineoptimalconcentrationsfortheirapplication.
